Faction La Machine Mini 2023 2024

Faction La Machine Mini 2023 2024

For the 2023 season, Faction brings the La Machine Mini and the rest of the La Machine collection to market to satisfy our thirst for super-light, fully rockered touring skis. You didn't know you wanted that? The Full Rocker shape is often seen on wider, powder-oriented skis, but it's far from limited to that. A full-rocker shape creates a very maneuverable ski that winds through tight trees and can turn in a tight chute.

Which ski length suits me?

The right length depends on the model, intended use, body measurements and ability. For Nordic skis, body weight and suitable flex are especially important.

Use a child’s current height, weight and ability. Do not add length just to allow room to grow.

A reviewed size recommendation is not yet available for this model. Use the measuring guide to prepare, then ask our team for help choosing.

Check before choosing

  • Compare only lengths supported by the reviewed guidance for this model.
  • Consider your ability and intended use. For touring, also consider whether ascent or descent matters more to you.
  • Check ski, binding and boot compatibility separately.

Measure your height and weight

Stand upright against a wall without shoes and measure from the floor to the top of your head.
  1. Stand against a wall without shoes, looking straight ahead.
  2. Ask someone to measure from the floor to the top of your head in centimetres.
  3. Check your current weight. For Nordic skis, use the weight range and flex for the exact model.

Description
La Machine Mini

For the 2023 season, Faction is bringing the La Machine Mini and the rest of the La Machine collection to market to satisfy our thirst for super-light, fully rockered touring skis.
Didn't know you wanted that?
Let us explain. The full rocker shape is often seen on wider, powder-oriented skis, but that's far from all it's limited to.
A full-rocker shape creates a very nimble ski that winds through tight trees and can turn in a tight couloir.
The La Machine Mini is particularly well-suited for more variable conditions or long expeditions with a 99 mm under-foot and a weight of 1450 grams.
Even though it's called Mini, you have enough ski underfoot to provide enough float so you can make good progress even on soft snow.
Playful skiers will feel at home with the shape and softer flex compared to the more directional, stiffer Faction Agent.
Did we mention it's also 200 grams lighter?
After all, legs need to stay fresh when steezy skiing.

Ski features:
  • Full rocker
  • Dual carbon layers
  • Lightweight Paulownia core
  • Bio-based resin
  • Made from recycled materials
  • 1450 grams / 183cm
At 183cm
Taper: 124 - 99 - 116
Radius: 20m

Touring

The La Machine Mini is particularly suitable for somewhat more variable conditions or long deployments at 99 mm underfoot and a weight of 1450 grams. Even though it's called Mini, you have enough ski under you to have enough flotation so you can make good progress on soft material.

Frequently asked questions

Advice on choosing touring skis, bindings and climbing skins.

  • How do I check what is included and choose bindings?

Check the product description to find out whether bindings are included and which model comes with the offer. Clarify any uncertainties with us before choosing additional bindings.

  • How do I choose touring ski length?

Alongside your height and skiing ability, consider the balance between climbing and descending. Weight, waist width and construction affect how the ski performs. A personal recommendation takes your terrain and touring style into account.

  • What needs to match for bindings and skins?

Check the ski, binding and boot specifications for the exact combination. Pin bindings require suitable boot inserts. Skins must match the ski in length, width and attachment; ski crampons must suit the binding system and ski width. Check the product details and clarify any uncertainties before buying.
