Description

The Blaze 86 builds on what the other models are known for: lightness, versatility and agility. By dispensing with Titanal, the ski is a little livelier and also slightly lighter. The Blaze 86 is designed for quick, tight turns, but the three different sidecut radii also handle demanding terrain, speed and long, drawn-out turns. Sprung tips and tails give the ski calm, increase flotation and protect the ski off-piste. The Blaze 86 is a great ski touring option for backcountry skiers who are happy to accept 100 g of extra weight in return for a significantly better skiing experience. The light, powerful tip-to-tail solid wood core makes ascents and descents a pleasure (except when the snow is too deep). An extremely versatile technology setup that gives the Blaze 86 an intuitive feel and an unusual degree of creativity.

SKI PROFILE

TIP & TAIL ROCKER

Character: Rockered only in the tip and tail area, pre-tensioned in the binding area

MULTILAYER WOODCORE LIGHT 1

ski tech multilayer woodcore light 1

The Multilayer Woodcore Light consists of a laminated wood core with a hardwood portion in the screw area and extra-light wood in the outer area. In the alpine segment, the models benefit in particular from the weight reduction, which allows quick, sporty turns.

SUSPENSION TIPS & TAILS

tip tail suspension tips tails

Inserts made of elastic, rubber-like material at the edges of the tip and tail. In wind-blown or tracked snow, they act like a bumper. Thanks to their damping elasticity, they provide better resistance to disturbance and supportive flotation.

3D RADIUS SIDECUT

3d radius sidecut

Three radii in one ski for maximum turning and speed.

Long Tip & Tail Radius:

‣Usage of long radii at tip and tail for big turns and high speed

‣Easy steering and maneuverability

‣Disruption resistant at the tip

‣No radius limitation and ease of turn exit

Tight Center Radius:

‣Usage of shorter radius in the center for short turns and lower speed

‣Extremely easy to initiate short turns

‣Strikingly agile

‣Effortless and smooth in short turns

FULL SIDEWALL ABS

full sidewall abs

The specific synthetic material of the sidewall enables precise and direct power transmission.

BASE P-TEX 2100

ski tech base p tex 2100

Sintered, ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene base with high density, excellent wear resistance and very good gliding properties.

BRUSHED

brushed structure

A superficial and shallow structure matches with wide skis and their bigger bearing face. Made for optimum agility with less catching and easier, smoother turning characteristics.

Frequently asked questions

Advice on choosing skis for your intended terrain.

  • How do I check what is included and choose bindings?

Check the product description to find out whether bindings are included and which model comes with the offer. Clarify any uncertainties with us before choosing additional bindings.

  • How do I choose length and width?

Match length and waist width to your height, skiing ability and terrain. Float in soft snow, piste performance and manoeuvrability vary by model. We can advise on suitable options for park, freeride or mixed use.

  • Can I use any binding?

No. The ski construction, intended mounting area, binding and boot must work together. If the binding uses a brake, its width must suit the ski. Off-piste use alone does not make a touring binding suitable.
