The Atomic Backland 89 SL W is a super-light all-around touring model offering ski touring women both strong climbing and descent performance.
The construction, optimized based on scientific life cycle assessment, reduces CO2-equivalent emissions (compared to the 2021 Backland 85) by 30%, without sacrificing even a gram of performance.
This is achieved by using more raw materials with lower CO2 footprint, meaning more wood but less fiberglass and resin, as well as waste-reducing sidewalls.
The result is a lighter, more stable ski for any terrain.
The All-Terrain Profile creates a different thickness progression, more torsional stiffness, and an optimized flex pattern for enormously versatile shape.
The wood core made from karuba and poplar wood gives the ski powerful descent performance when combined with the stabilizing carbon backbone.
The wider 89mm waist and the beveled HRZN 3D shovel provide better float in powder.
