Pieps Aluminium Probe 220 Sport

The PIEPS Aluminium Probe 220 Sport is a folding avalanche probe with a length of 220 cm. Version 110027 consists of five aluminium sections that fold for transport. A centimetre scale supports depth readings during probing and snow-profile work.

Selection and use

Become familiar with assembly before a tour and practise fully tensioning the probe. Pack it where you can reach it without rearranging your entire backpack. Choosing an appropriate probe length is part of planning your equipment. A probe forms one part of avalanche emergency equipment, and its use should be practised together with a shovel and transceiver.

Care and inspection

Check the sections, joints, tensioning mechanism and tip before use. Remove snow and dirt after practice or touring, and let the probe dry. Follow PIEPS’s instructions when folding and packing it. Have damaged tubes or an unreliable closure assessed before putting the probe back into service.

In-stock items usually ship from our warehouse within 1 to 3 working days. If the item is in stock in one of our stores, you can also pick it up there free of charge. In Pfronten this also works for items that are only in stock in Ronsberg: we bring them over, which usually takes 2 to 4 days.
