Pieps Carbon Pro Probe 260

The PIEPS Carbon Pro 260 is a folding avalanche probe with six carbon sections and a deployed length of 260 cm. Its quick-closing latch keeps the sections tensioned, and a centimetre scale assists with reading depths. An elastic buckle secures the folded sections for transport. Compared with the shorter 220 cm version, this model provides additional length, with a manufacturer-stated weight of 280 g.

Selection and use

Before a trip, check that the folded probe remains easy to reach in its intended pack compartment. Deploy it fully using the PIEPS instructions and practise locking it and folding it away in a controlled manner. All connections must seat correctly and the probe must remain tensioned. It complements a transceiver and avalanche shovel as part of the search equipment. Practical training and appropriate group trip planning remain necessary.

Care and inspection

Dry the probe thoroughly after use. Check carbon sections, tip, tensioning line and latch for damage or wear. Store it without unnecessary bending or crushing of the tubes, and have damaged components checked before using the probe again.

In-stock items usually ship from our warehouse within 1 to 3 working days. If the item is in stock in one of our stores, you can also pick it up there free of charge.
