Petzl CONGA accessory cord 8mm, Blue, 20m

The Petzl CONGA 8mm is a semi-static nylon accessory cord for installing a handline during mountain hikes. The version offered here is blue and 20m long, with an 8mm diameter. It has a braided construction; the manufacturer’s model-family specification lists 40 carriers. Its intended use as a handline and the accompanying instructions are decisive. The CONGA must not be used to arrest falls while climbing or mountaineering. It does not replace a suitable dynamic climbing rope for that purpose.

Selection and use

Read the complete Petzl instructions before use and follow the markings on the actual product. Selecting anchors, checking compatibility and correct use require appropriate knowledge. Use the cord only within its intended application. Weight and strength specifications from other production years must not be transferred to this version without verification.

Care and inspection

Before each use, inspect the cord for damage, abrasion and unusual changes. Keep it away from sharp edges, chemicals and strong heat. Clean and store it according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Unusual loading or uncertainty about condition and history require competent assessment before further use.
