Fritschi Axion Harscheisen 2021 2022

Fritschi Axion ski crampons are accessories for compatible frame touring bindings in the Eagle, Freeride Pro and Scout families. Once attached to the binding in preparation, they can be activated with a ski pole when needed. This is useful when hard snow or a demanding traverse calls for additional support during the ascent.

Selection and use

Check the precise binding version and your ski waist before buying. The crampon must fit its intended mounting interface and have sufficient clearance at the sides. Selecting a width alone does not complete that check. Have a specialist demonstrate installation and activation, and practise before your tour. Follow Fritschi’s instructions and assess when to use the accessory before reaching a difficult section.

Care and checks

Remove snow and dirt after use and allow the components to dry fully. Inspect the attachment, pivot area and teeth for wear or deformation. Any damaged part or uncertain operation needs specialist assessment before further use. Store the crampons where their teeth are protected and cannot damage other items in your equipment.
