The Shimano PD-ME700 are black SPD trail pedals with dual-sided entry and a wide contact area. Their integrated cage supports shoe-to-pedal contact and protects the binding mechanism from impacts. Entry and release tension can be adjusted to the rider. The design suits touring and trail riding with compatible SPD footwear.

Selection and installation

Check the combination of shoe, SPD cleat and pedal before use. The wide contact area works best when the shoe is supported correctly on the pedal. Set the release tension according to Shimano’s instructions and practise clipping in and out in a suitable place first. SPD and SPD-SL are different systems. During installation, also follow the markings identifying the left and right pedals.

Care and checks

Remove mud and small stones from the binding area and regularly inspect the cleats and fasteners. Check that the pedals turn freely and look for bearing play. The sealed axle unit reduces maintenance needs but does not replace regular functional checks. Follow Shimano’s guidance for cleaning, lubrication and adjustment, and replace worn components in good time.

In-stock items usually ship from our warehouse within 1 to 3 working days. If the item is in stock in one of our stores, you can also pick it up there free of charge. In Pfronten this also works for items that are only in stock in Ronsberg: we bring them over, which usually takes 2 to 4 days. The pickup note above and the checkout show where and when you can pick up. Skis with binding mounting take a little longer: we mount them carefully and let you know as soon as your set is on its way. Personal advice is available by appointment in our store in Ronsberg. Warranty & returns
