Black Diamond Crag Gloves black

The Black Diamond Crag Gloves in black are lightweight gloves for belaying and via ferrata. Manufacturer reference BD801863 identifies the version offered here. They combine full-finger coverage with a breathable, elastic back. The design is intended for tasks involving contact with equipment while retaining hand mobility. The appropriate size depends on hand circumference, finger length and the fit you prefer.

Synthetic leather forms the palms and fingers, with extra reinforcement at the index finger and thumb crotch. Stretch mesh and knuckle padding are used across the back of the hand. Black Diamond specifies 60% nylon and 40% polyurethane for the shell, and 96% polyester with 4% elastane for the back of the hand. Terry cloth is used at the thumb. A low-profile hook-and-loop fastening adjusts the cuff, while a tab assists putting the gloves on and clipping them up.

With the gloves fitted, check that you can close your hand and operate the controls you need in a controlled way. They supplement equipment but do not replace correct belaying technique or the necessary devices. Regularly inspect high-wear finger sections, seams and fastenings. Follow the label for cleaning and care, and dry the gloves away from direct heat. A suitable fit should retain movement without excess material interfering with your grip or access to the equipment.
