Identity
The Identity seal gives the customer unprecedented worldwide security about the natural product 'leather' used in their shoe.
With the identification number embossed in each shoe, you receive the individual history of your shoe.
The guarantee of a biological, ecological, and regional product, as unique and unmistakable as a fingerprint—a shoe with its own biography.
That's what Meindl manufacturer and its partners stand for: farmers on the Alpine meadows in Chiemgau, certified organic slaughterhouses in Chiemgau and Salzburg region, the tannery that demonstrably tans the leather in Germany using a special environmentally friendly process, and finally production in Kirchanschöring, which turns the leather into a shoe.

Terra Care Zero leather
For its most environmentally friendly material, the manufacturer, the Heinen tannery, sets strict criteria in leather production: the company offsets all CO2 emissions from the leather tanning process. Water consumption is gradually reduced and limited to a minimum.
However, the use of chemicals remains unavoidable even with Terra Care leather.
For this, Heinen adheres to very strict standards and limits the use of chemicals to a minimum.

They are permanently waterproof, highly breathable, and offer perfect climate comfort for various activities and weather conditions.
