choucas-harness-white
Blue Ice Choucas Harness - Klettergurt

The Choucas hip belt from Blue Ice should be a concept for all mountaineers concerned with the ultra-light issue. As an uncompromisingly minimalist harness, it weighs just 148 grams – less is almost impossible.

However, one must be very clear that this is explicitly a model for ski and high-altitude mountaineers for whom every gram counts. Well thought out, the leg loops can be opened via quick-release buckles, so putting it on with crampons is no problem. Four flexible material loops plus two options for attaching ice screw holders complete the package. So the Choucas impresses in eternal ice, being especially suitable for purists and as an ultralight backup harness, but not so much for comfort-minded alpinists.

Technical details at a glance:

Size / hip / leg loops / weight
S / 65 – 80 cm / 45 – 55 cm / 142 g
M / 75 – 90 cm / 50 – 60 cm / 148 g
L / 85 – 110 cm / 55 – 65 cm / 154 g
XL / 100 – 120 cm / 70 – 95 cm / 160 g
