The combination is perfect. Nothing insulates as well as high-quality down. The 30% wool content absorbs any moisture that forms and thus keeps the down drier in a natural way. Down has a very high insulation performance at low weight. However, down only insulates as long as it is dry and fluffy. As moisture increases, the fine branching of the down collapses, which considerably reduces the insulating effect of the down. Down is therefore often treated with water-repellent agents. With DownWool, this becomes unnecessary thanks to the added wool content. This is because wool can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture without losing its insulating effect.
